These days, our knowledge of celebrities too often originates with paparazzi images and snarky quotes by anonymous “insiders.” After a while, it’s easy to forget that stars are real people. That’s why HuffPost Celebrity decided to launch its all-new #nofilter quick-fire question and answer series. Because how well do you know someone until they’ve shared their guiltiest pleasures?
As the niece of Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, there’s no doubt in our minds that Emma Roberts will be America’s next sweetheart. The 21-year-old has already starred in hits like “Valentine’s Day” and “Scream 4″ and will be seen this year alongside Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis in “We’re the Millers.” Plus, she gets hot and heavy with Miley Cyrus’ fiance, Liam Hemsworth in the upcoming drama, “Empire State.” So, who or what makes her jealous? HuffPost Celebrity found out.
What do you think of Honey Boo Boo?
I’ve never seen it!
Have you read Fifty Shades of Grey?
No [laughs]. I’m sorry!
What’s the last song you downloaded?
“Catch my Breath” by Kelly Clarkson. I’m obsessed.
Do you have any tattoos?
What’s the dumbest thing you’ve read about yourself?
Umm … I don’t know I try not to read the dumb stuff written about me.
Who’s on speed dial?
If you could give advice to a younger version of yourself, what would it be?
Don’t flat-iron your hair so much.
When’s the last time you cried?
Yesterday, but it was for a scene.
Would you rather sleep cold or overheated?
Ugh, I loathe both of them, but I guess overheated because I can just have a fan next to me.
If your friend was getting married and you thought it was a mistake would you say so?
Yes, for sure!
What/who have you been jealous of lately?
Ummm, probably everyone that gets to sleep in! Because I’ve been up at the crack of dawn everyday for the past seven days in a row and it’s getting to me.
Backstreet Boys or N*SYNC?
Backstreet Boys. I’m just thinking when I was younger I was obsessed with them versus NSYNC.
What movie could you watch over and over?
“Clueless.” I know all the words! I love that movie.
What shows are always on your DVR?
“Revenge,” I love “Revenge.” And then “New Girl,” I’m obsessed with “New Girl.” I’m so happy that they got nominated for Golden Globes because I think they’re the best cast ever.
What’s your dating deal-breaker?
If people aren’t nice or try to act like a-holes to be cool. I really dislike that.
What’s on your nightstand?
What isn’t on my nightstand? It’s like overflowing. I just told myself today I have to clean it. There’s like books and water bottles and notebooks and scripts and pens it’s just so much stuff! Lots of magazines.
If you were undead, would you be a vampire, zombie or ghost?
I’d probably be a vampire because they’re like probably the cutest! If I was going to be undead I would not want to look like a zombie for the rest of my life.
Emma Roberts has been acting professionally since she was nine, starring in television and film projects like Unfabulous, Nancy Drew and Scream 4. Her acting talent might be genetic, since her father is actor Eric Roberts and her Aunt is the legendary Julia Roberts. Roberts was a little flustered when we asked her for a Buyer’s Remorse story—but when she finally thought of something she regretted, it was an item which we could relate to.
Racked: Could you tell us about something you’ve had Buyer’s Remorse about?
Emma Roberts: I don’t know. I’m like a shopaholic I love everything I buy. I probably just need to wear it more.
Racked: But is there anything you’ve actually regretted buying? Something you were initially excited about, but then thought, “What was I thinking?”
Emma Roberts: I don’t know. You’re putting me on the spot. I can’t think of anything…I bought a blender that didn’t work.
Racked: Do you cook?
Emma Roberts: No, I just thought I needed one to make smoothies and then I never ended up using it and it broke. So that was remorse.
