Sony Classics Acquires ‘Celeste & Jesse Forever’: Sundance
Sony Pictures Classics announced North American, Latin American and Eastern European rights to Celeste & Jesse Forever. The Lee Toland Krieger-directed comedy was co-written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, and is produced by Jennifer Todd, Suzanne Todd and Lee Nelson. The film, which debuted in the Premiere Section of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, stars Jones, Andy Samberg, Chris Messina, Ari Graynor, McCormack, Emma Roberts, and Elijah Wood. The comedy is about two people who met in high school, married young and are growing apart. Now 30, they decide to get divorced and attempt to stay best friends while pursuing other relationships. This plan is not as simple as they had imagined. SPC’s Tom Bernard, Michael Barker and Dylan Leiner made the deal with UTA Independent Film Group. Said the producers: “We are thrilled our film has found a home with Sony Pictures Classics and are incredibly excited to work with Michael, Tom and Dylan. Their track record is unparalleled and we feel very lucky to have our film with them.”

Montecito is producing, and Paramount Pictures will distribute. Emma has done her first photoshoot of 2012 with Tyler Shields, she makes a cameo in ‘Barbie’s Wild World’! First photo is a see at your own risk, Emma’s expression says it all! Emma was seen out yesterday(January 23rd) on a rainy day on Melrose Avenue.

A lot of people think they know Barbie and everyone has an opinion of her but I have to say she is quite the actress she was on time for our shoot and super wiling to get wild! She expressed to me her interest in doing something different “being shot in a way people had never seen her before” I have nothing but amazing things to say about her and contrary to popular opinion she is not a diva at all! Her make up and styling was done by Francesca Eastwood also a big thanks to Emma Roberts for making a cameo in The world of Barbie. Emma and Barbie were old friends they have been wanting to work together for a long time!

Emma on her next role: sex shop employee

Emma Roberts is going racy in her next role as a sex shop employee.

Roberts, 20, told USA TODAY that she is about to head off to New York to begin shooting the dark comedy Adult World, about a college graduate who has no better employment prospects than selling explicit adult products.

“It’s a quirky coming-of-age story,” says Roberts, speaking from the Sundance Film Festival. “My character is very smart, but the economy is very bad.”

“So she works at a porn store,” the Nancy Drew and Hotel for Dogs star shrugs.

Her character continues her positive outlook on the world despite the rather seedy surroundings.

“It’s an interesting backdrop because when you’re a young person you’re always looking for inspiration,” says Roberts. “But then you find yourself asking, ‘How did I end up here?’ “

The movie concept is not unique in these dire economic times. The Sundance Film Festival features a movie, For a Good Time, Call, about two women who start a phone sex line in order to make ends meet.

“It’s very relevant for young people who are asking themselves, ‘What do we do?’ ” says Roberts.

Roberts spoke while celebrating at the premiere afterparty of her new movie Celeste and Jesse Forever at the Acura Studio in Park City, Utah. In the film, which was co-written and stars Rashida Jones, Roberts plays an outrageous pop star.

While her Celeste character resembles Lady Gaga, Roberts insists she got her inspiration elsewhere. “It was basically based on the stereotype of every child actor/pop star I’ve seen,” says Roberts.
