Snapette, the must-have mobile app for fashion lovers, has teamed up with style icon, fashion muse and leading actress Emma Roberts in a new creative role. Roberts will come on board and lend her style expertise as the company’s new Fashion Adviser.
A self-proclaimed fashion lover and early fan of Snapette, Roberts is excited to lend her point of view and personal sense of style to the popular shopping app.
Roberts will leverage her new role into a platform to communicate with her fans and fellow fashion lovers by sharing her top picks ranging from merchandise she finds in her favorite boutiques and shopping destinations to items in her own closet. In addition to becoming a featured user on the app itself, she will also contribute to the Snapette.com blog, sharing insight on the season’s trends and personal must-haves. Through regular snaps and posts, she looks forward to engaging with fellow Snapettes around the world.
“It’s so exciting for me to be part of a new product that is completely changing how people shop,” said Roberts. “Snapette hits the mark by combining mobile and local fashion shopping. Launched in 2011 as the first location-based shopping app, Snapette has redefined the traditional in-store shopping experience and has quickly become the go-to app for users searching for the best in fashion. Shoppers looking for the perfect dress, bag, or pair of heels use the app to virtually browse images of products available in nearby stores. Users can also upload images of their latest shopping finds, tag items by location and share it across their social networks. The mobile community on Snapette can then search by brand, store or description to discover what’s available in stores around them and also see what’s trending around the corner or around the world.
The app has also become a conduit for over 180 top brands and retailers in cities around the world who use the app to keep shoppers updated on new products, sales and in-store events. The app’s retail partners, including Diane von Furstenberg, Rebecca Minkoff, Rebecca Taylor, Tracey Reese, Joie, Steven Alan and Vince Camuto are using the app as an innovative way to reach consumers in a new way.
The company, which has secured $1.5 million in funding since launch, counts Forerunner Ventures, Digital Garage and Brian Lee (founder of Shoedazzle and The Honest Company) among its investors.
Originally available only through the iTunes store, Snapette will officially launch for Android on October 23.
