“Emma Roberts Whoring Herself Out For Pretty Woman Reboot?” asks the perpetually clueless Perez Hilton.
According to the blogger, “Julia Roberts’ niece wants to make a Pretty Woman remake, so she can steal breathe new life into her aunt’s famous role.”
Perez claims, “Em has been whoring herself out (metaphorically, of course) to producers, trying desperately to get someone, anyone to back her mastermind plan.”
He quotes a purported “insider” as saying, “Emma’s dream is to re-create Pretty Woman, it’s her ideal role. She’s been in talks with producers about the possibility of revisiting the character Julia made famous in a reboot of the original film.”
Moreover, Emma allegedly “wants to be just as successful” as her famous aunt, notes the so-called “source.”
Unfortunately, noted film expert Perez believes the supposed project is just a pipe dream.
“We have a feeling the odds of [Pretty Woman] getting a reboot AND Em landing the leading role are as slim as a Richard Gere wifing up a hooker!” screams the blogger.
And Gossip Cop has a feeling the odds of Perez getting a story right are just as slim.
In this case, our intuition is correct.
On Tuesday, Emma tweeted about the Pretty Woman reboot report, “Too bad that’s not true! Haha. Nobody could recreate that!”

As the 2012 movie season winds down, just around the corner is 2013 with a whole new slate of films on the horizon, and one we’ll be keeping an eye out for is Scott Coffey’s “Adult World.” And to give you a tease of what’s to come, today we have the exclusive first images from the forthcoming feature.
The film brings together a pretty intriguing cast with Emma Roberts, John Cusack, Evan Peters (“American Horror Story”), Shannon Woodward (“Raising Hope”), Cloris Leachman and John Cullum, in a satirical coming-of-age comedy, centered on the life of Amy Anderson (Roberts) who has just graduated with a degree in poetry. Convinced she is the next star in the literary world, she moves back with her parents to write poetry and find her place in the world. Very soon — saddled with a stack of rejection letters, unpaid student loans, and no money — she decides to find a job in the real world. The only place that will hire her is an adult bookstore called Adult World. It’s there that Amy meets Manny (Peters) the store manager, and his transvestite friend Rubia (Armando Riesco). Meanwhile Amy goes to a poetry reading by her hero, Rat Billings (John Cusack), “one of the greatest punk poets of the early 90s” and after stalking him, he agrees to mentor her and help get her work published.
The picture will feature a score by Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs/Divine Fits frontman Dan Boeckner, who has also penned a new song for the film called “Floating World.” Treehouse Pictures — the team behind Ramin Bahrani’s “At Any Price” and the Richard Gere starring “Arbitrage” — are backing “Adult World” as well. No release date yet, but we’ll be keeping a firm look at the Sundance schedule, as Coffey premiered his feature debut “Ellie Parker” starring Naomi Watts in Park City in 2005.
