Ashby stars Mickey Rourke and Nat Wolff with Emma having a supporting role. Awkward Ed Wallis (Nat Wolff) needs help fitting in and turns to his neighbor Ashby Holt (Mickey Rourke) for help. Ashby’s unforgiving brand of tough love soon tests their friendship, and it hardly helps when Ed learns that Ashby is a former CIA assassin. The film will make its debut at the Tribeca film festival in New York in April so hopefully soon will see a theatrical release (most likely limited).

“If I’m having a really bad day, I always have a girlfriend — or even a guy friend — who I can call,” the actress, 21, told Us Weekly Wednesday while promoting Seventeen’s Pretty Amazing contest in NYC. “They’ll listen to me wallow for a minute and then be like, ‘OK, let’s stop. Everything’s great. Let’s figure out how to fix whatever’s bothering you.'”
“I’ve gone through times where you’re feeling low and you don’t reach out to people and you just keep wallowing in that, and I think that’s when things turn into a bigger deal than they need to be,” she explained. “I think it’s important to have people who will pull you out of that, whether it’s family or friends.”
The Scream 4 actress teamed up with Seventeen for its second annual Pretty Amazing contest, which asks young girls to share their stories of personal achievement for the chance to appear on the cover of the magazine’s October 2012 issue. The winner will also receive a $20,000 scholarship, courtesy of Neutrogena.
“It’s a cool contest because even the girls who don’t win, the fact that they took the time to sit down and think about something that’s great about themselves, I think takes a lot,” Roberts, who will help choose the winner, told Us. “A lot of people think that comes off as bragging and they want to [downplay their story]. So I think the fact that these girls are saying, ‘I did do something cool and I am good at this’ is really admirable.” (For more details on Roberts’ involvement in Seventeen’s Pretty Amazing contest click here.)
Roberts, who recently wrapped production on the dark comedy Adult World with John Cusack, will begin filming Empire State with Liam Hemsworth, 22, “in the next month or so.”
“It’s really cool — like an ’80s heist movie,” Roberts said of her new project. “I’m really excited about that. I play his love interest.”

Who needs college when you can still have spring break, right? Just ask Emma Roberts. The busy actress, who postponed her studies at New York’s Sarah Lawrence College, may be skipping the whole dorm room and midterm thing this semester but she’s still about to jet off on vacation with a gaggle of pals like so many college co-eds do mid-March.
Wonderwall caught up with Roberts on Tuesday during a sunny, patio-set luncheon at Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif., where she was helping designer Tracy Reese and winemaker Clos du Bois celebrate the pair’s debut of a new line of designer picnic baskets called Clos du Bois Chic Picnique by Tracy Reese. She discussed her upcoming vacation, her decision to leave college, and why she’s so obsessed with fashion.
Wonderwall: How rare is it for you to have lunch by the beach on a weekday?
Roberts: It’s so nice! I’ve been wanting to come down by the beach this whole week, and I just haven’t had time, so I was like ‘Oh, an excuse to go? Yes, I’m there!’
