Roberts will portray Sydney, the love interest of Elgort’s financial genius Joe Hunt. Egerton will portray tennis pro Dean Karny and Spacey will play high roller Ron Levin.
The film will follow the true story of the rise and fall of Hunt and Karny, who ran a Ponzi scheme called the Billionaire Boys Club — which collapsed when Levin’s investment turned out to be worthless. Hunt turned to murder to raise funds and was convicted in 1987 of killing Levin. Karny served as the state’s witness in the trial.
James Cox (“Wonderland”) is directing from a script he co-wrote with Captain Mauzner.
The project, produced by Holly Wiersma and Cassian Elwes, is being financed by Armory Films with its principals Tim Zajaros and Chris Lemole executive producing. Crystal Lourd, Jere Hausfater and Logan Levy will also executive produce.
Good Universe is launching international sales at the American Film Market.
NBC aired a “Billionaire Boys Club ” miniseries in 1987 with Judd Nelson as Hunt, Ron Silver as Levin and Brian McNamara as Karny.
Roberts stars on “Scream Queens.” She’s repped by CAA.

Prep school horror film, February, starring Emma Roberts is being acquired by A24 and DirecTV.
February is set at an all-girls boarding school, where Rose (Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka) and her older classmate Rose (Lucy Boynton) have been stranded for their spring break. Robert’s stars as a haunted woman who is making her way toward the school, but as she gets closer, Kat becomes increasingly possessed by an unknown evil force.
The elevated horror film, which will hit theaters in 2016, the directorial debut for writer-director Osgood Perkins, who is better known for his acting, including roles in Legally Blonde and Psycho II. Perkins, the son of Psycho actor Anthony Perkins, co-wrote the screenplay for The Girl in the Photographs, which is also screening at the festival.
Unbroken Pictures’ Adrienne Biddle and Bryan Bertino produced the film with Rob Paris’ Paris Film, Inc., Zed Filmworks’ Rob Menzies and Alphonse Ghossein of Go Insane Films. Carissa Buffel and Kevin Matusow are executive producing under their Traveling Picture Show Company banner along with 120dB Films’ Peter Graham and Steve Hayes, and Arianne Fraser.
February had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Saturday, Sept 12. THR’s review said: “Evoking some unholy cross between the satanic classic Rosemary’s Baby and Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s uncannily eerie Innocence, with an inky dash of Lost Highway, actor-turned-writer-director Osgood Perkins’ horror story February represents a remarkable debut.”
The film was produced by Unbroken Pictures, Zed Filmworks and Go Insane Pictures. February is represented domestically by CAA and UTA, and internationally by Highland Film Group.
A24 has already scooped up How to Talk to Girls at Parties and Into the Forest at the festival, and its film Room starring Brie Larson screened on Tuesday to a very warm reception.

Mickey Rourke, Sarah Silverman, Emma Roberts and Nat Wolff are all coming together for Tony McNamara’s Tribeca comedy-drama “Ashby.” The film will debut in select theaters and VOD starting September 25, courtesy of Paramount Home Entertainment and The Film Arcade.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “Ed Wallis (Nat Wolff) and his spirited single mom (Sarah Silverman) are new in town. At school, Ed struggles to fit in. He secretly desires to make the football team although the jocks disapprove, and he connects with only one other student, brainy Eloise (Emma Roberts). Given an assignment to interview someone ‘old,’ Ed approaches his new neighbor Ashby Holt (Mickey Rourke), a man facing troubling news he’d rather avoid. Although Ashby pretends to be a retired salesman, Ed soon learns that he’s actually a former CIA assassin. As Ed gains new perspective from his unlikely friendship with Ashby, he’s prompted to take more chances with his life, and with Eloise. Meanwhile, as Ashby faces a crossroads, he must find the courage to settle old scores and set things right.”
