Ashby stars Mickey Rourke and Nat Wolff with Emma having a supporting role. Awkward Ed Wallis (Nat Wolff) needs help fitting in and turns to his neighbor Ashby Holt (Mickey Rourke) for help. Ashby’s unforgiving brand of tough love soon tests their friendship, and it hardly helps when Ed learns that Ashby is a former CIA assassin. The film will make its debut at the Tribeca film festival in New York in April so hopefully soon will see a theatrical release (most likely limited).

James Franco interviews Emma Roberts for Heroine Magazine’s Issue 2 and gives fans a taste of what it’s like to kiss the 23-year-old actress. Franco, who co-starred with Roberts in “Palo Alto” and will soon be seen alongside her in “I Am Michael,” chatted with Julia Roberts’ niece about everything from “American Horror Story” to Gia Coppola, but couldn’t quite escape the “gushy” talk.
James Franco: I felt like…
Emma Roberts: …Oh no…
JF: …I felt like our kiss was better in the second movie.
ER: [takes a deep breath] Oh my God! [laughs]
JF: …than in Palo Alto…
ER: You’re being such a trouble maker!
JF: So either you got better at kissing…
ER: Oh my God that’s the rudest thing ever! [laughs]
JF: I was thinking maybe you were just being an amazing actress. [laughs]
ER: Maybe I’m a character actress. I didn’t realise you were playing such close attention on both movies, or maybe I would have done it differently.”
“JF: Which character do you think has kissed more people? The young girl in Palo Alto or the budding young Christian in Michael?
ER: I think you’ve kissed more than both of them put together. [laughs]”
But that’s not all. The 36-year-old actor went on to tell Roberts that they have “such weird but ultimately such great chemistry,” leading Roberts to suggest they try playing brother and sister in their next film.
“I feel like if we play brother and sister it’s going to have to be incestuous because our relationships are always weird,” Franco said as Roberts added, “Or maybe we’ll just play really normal boyfriend and girlfriend?”
“I don’t think it would work,” he replied. “I don’t think it would work either,” she caved.

HOLLYWOOD – “Scream Queens,” which begins production soon in New Orleans, has added Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”), Lea Michele (“Glee”), Abigail Breslin (“Little Miss Sunshine”) and Keke Palmer (“Madea’s Family Reunion”) to its cast, the Fox network announced Saturday (Jan. 17) at the Winter TV Tour. Previously announced cast members are Emma Roberts (“American Horror Story”) and Jamie Lee Curtis (“Halloween”).
Ariana Grande was announced as a “Scream Queens” guest star in a recurring role.
A comedy-horror anthology series covering 15 episodes, “Scream Queens” is slated for a fall slot on Fox’s schedule. The series comes from “Glee” creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. FX’s “American Horror Story: Coven” and “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” also from Murphy, both were filmed in New Orleans.
“Ryan has proven over the years that he has just great instincts for building characters that people just care about and fall in love with,” said Gary Newman, co-chair and CEO of Fox Television Group. “He brings an outrageousness to what he does that I think is his kind of unique signature.”
Noting that the first season of “Scream Queens” will be set in a sorority house, Newman said that Murphy is “literally the perfect person to be doing this.”
Murphy has assembled his cast so far without sending out scripts — to either the actors or the network.
